For the third year in a row, RS&H CEO Dave Sweeney has been named to Florida Trend’s Florida 500.
The Florida 500 is the product of a year-long research initiative by the editors of Florida Trend that spotlights the state’s most influential business leaders across major industries.
“In a year that has challenged us personally and professionally – with a worldwide pandemic, social injustice protests throughout our nation and a divisive political atmosphere – we can appreciate even more the civic efforts of the Floridians highlighted on these pages,” wrote Florida Trend Publisher David Denor. “Their hard work, focus, dedication, sacrifice and desire for making Florida a better place to live and work provide a glimmer of hope during this otherwise gloomy time.”
As RS&H’s CEO, Sweeney leads a growing team of skilled architects, building professionals, engineers, planners, environmental scientists and consultants who strive each day to create appropriate solutions for the most complex challenges faced by our clients, communities and stakeholders. Under his leadership, the employee-owned firm has expanded to over 60 offices across the country and moved into the Top 50 Design Firms as ranked by revenue by Engineering News-Record.
RS&H professionals are focused on innovation, collaboration, lifelong learning and giving back to their profession through active involvement in professional organizations and societies. The Elevate Fund was established by associates in 2018 to benefit the communities we serve and has since distributed nearly $200,000 to over 40 nonprofits in nine states. RS&H associates have also launched the Ignite Women’s Leadership Network, which supports women through an inclusive culture that advances the success of RS&H and our communities.
“This recognition is really for the RS&H team – we all believe that well-designed infrastructure and facilities can greatly improve the quality of life for all in the communities we serve,” Sweeney said. “We carry that belief forward in each project we complete, each client we serve and each community or workplace we partner to improve. We are driven to care.”
Sweeney joined RS&H in 1998 and has more than 30 years of experience with professional firms serving public and private sector clients. He is a licensed professional engineer in six states and a member of the Florida Council of 100 Board of Directors, the Florida Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Construction Industry Roundtable Board of Directors and the Jacksonville Civic Council Executive Committee.
