In the Media: 7 Steps to Address PFAS Featured in Airport Magazine

A new buzzword is making its way around the environmental and aviation industries — PFAS.

Also known as poly- and per-fluroalkylated substances, PFAS exist in more than 3,000 variations and can found in a variety of products across many industries. In the aviation sector, PFAS are found in aqueous film forming foams (AFFFs), which are used in both the military and commercially to combat high-intensity fires caused by ignited fuel.

In the latest issue of Airport Magazine, RS&H Senior Aviation Environmental Specialist Brent Goetz examines the PFAS problem airports may face and gives seven steps airport management can take to address the issue.
